NORAD Path Trace Program
Macerich Company is the program partner and sponsor of NORAD Tracks Santa for the 2005 and 2006 NORAD Tracks Santa seasons. As part of the sponsorship, from November 18 to December 25, 2005, for the 50th anniversary of the Santa NORAD Trail program, Citadel Mall (owned by The Macerich Company from 1997 to 2006) has a large Santa Tracker Village that includes 25-foot trees, map tracker, and viewfinder where children and young people in the heart can watch the NORAD Tracks Santa video, listen to the audio message of peace from children around the world, and receive a 24-page coloring book with Santa's assistant wearing the NORAD patch. The NORAD/Santa Tracking Station effort was expanded, in collaboration with Becker Group [1], so in November 2007, NORAD/Santa Tracker Station was displayed at the Macerich property location, such as:
The NORAD/Santa Tracker Station displays many interactive elements, including sophisticated green screen photo operations, which digitally place Santa and guests into an air sleigh flying over world-renowned landmarks. The overall experience provides retail centers with a variety of benefits such as extending "fixed visits," additions, and changing foot traffic patterns and property brand recognition. The result is an extraordinary and inventive boost to the physical shopping experience at Macerich mall featuring NORAD/Santa Tracker Station.
