Marina Bay Sands is an integrated resort overlooking Marina Bay in Singapore. At its opening in 2010, it was billed as the most expensive self-contained casino property in the world for S $ 8 billion, including land fees.

Investment

Design and construction
The resort was designed by Moshe Safdie, who said was originally inspired by the deck of cards. The architect is Aedas, and they are responsible for hiring all consultants and for developing, co-ordinating and implementing the design. Techniques provided by Arup and Parsons Brinkerhoff (MEP). The main contractor is Ssangyong Engineering and Construction. In addition to the casino, other important components of this plan are three hotel towers with 2,500 rooms and suites, ArtScience Museum covering 19,000 m (supersi) (200,000 sq ft) and convention center with 110,000 m 2 (1,200,000 sqÃ, ft) space, able to accommodate up to 45,000 people. The hallmark of this hotel is the SkyPark, a three-hectare park over the top with a swimming pool, garden and jogging track. The structure bridges the three towers with cantilever segments from the north tower. The SkyPark hull is made offsite in 14 separate steel parts and then assembled on top of the tower. There are four joint motions under the main pool, designed to help them resist the natural movement of the tower, and each joint has a unique range of motion. Total range of motion is 500 millimeters (20 inches). In addition to the wind, the hotel tower is also subject to settlement on earth from time to time, so engineers build and install special jack feet to allow future adjustments at over 500 points under the pool system. This jacking system is especially important to ensure the infinity edge of the pool continues to function properly.
The three towers are wider at the base and narrow as they rise. Each tower has two asymmetrical legs, with arched eastern legs leaning against the other, creating significant technical challenges in its construction. A substantial temporary structure is required to support tower feet while they are under construction, and requires real time monitoring for ongoing assessment and analysis during their erection. The structural engineering for this project is handled by Arup, with Parsons Brinckerhoff MEP engineers. The building was built by South Korean construction company "SsangYong".
Opening
Marina Bay Sands was originally planned to be completed in one phase in 2009, but increased construction costs and the financial crisis forced the company to open it gradually. The opening of the first phase preview was postponed further until April 27, 2010, and the official opening was pushed back to June 23, 2010. The remainder of the complex remained under construction and opened after opening on 17 February 2011.
On 27 April 2010, Marina Bay Sands has the first of 3 to 4 opening phases planned. The casino, part of the conference hall, Shoppes segment, 963 hotel rooms and event plaza opened at a favorable time of 3:18 pm as part of the "preview opening".
The Inter-Pacific Bar Association (IPBA) held its first conference at the Marina Bay Sands Convention Center on 2-5 May 2010, but the event was marred by incomplete facilities and power failures during the speech. There are two Crystal Pavilions. Despite a brief legal dispute in June 2011, it was decided that one of the Pavilions would have two nightclubs - Avalon and Pangea.
