Critics also praised the increase and involvement of 50 Cent in the game. Jeff Gerstmann of Giant Bomb says his story is "very unreasonable, with a lot of half-dialogs usually delivered by people who sound like they have a plane to catch." IGN praised solid game and strong co-op even though they noted that the repetitive nature of gameplay makes it has no lasting appeal. GameSpot's Chris Watters says "It works really well This is not the best action game you'll play this year, but that does not mean you will not have a great time playing it."
Beginning in early April 2009, <50 Cent: Blood on the Sand sold about 56,000 copies in the United States.
