Chamblee (Sham-blee) is a town north of DeKalb County, Georgia, USA, northeast of Atlanta. The population is 9,892 at the 2010 census.

Histori
The area that would become Chamblee was originally a dairy farm. During the late nineteenth century, the junction of two railroads was built at Chamblee; one carrying passengers from Atlanta to Charlotte, North Carolina, while others are hauling workers and goods back and forth from the factory in Roswell to Atlanta. A settlement known as the Roswell Junction appeared at the intersection, and the US Postal Service decided to set up a post office there. However, feeling the name of the settlement was too similar to the nearby Roswell, they randomly selected Chamblee from the applicant's list for the new post office name. Chamblee was founded in 1907.
During World War I and World War II, Chamblee served as a place of US military operations. During World War I, the US operated Camp Gordon, where 40,000 soldiers. The entry of these new people created a building boom in the city. Camp Gordon closed after the war and then reopened as Naval Flight Training Center in the advent of World War II.
Immediately after World War II, Chamblee experienced growth in the blue-collar industry and residents due to its proximity to the newly opened General Motors plant in neighboring Doraville. The manufacturing plant is also located along the newly built Peachtree Industrial Boulevard. In the 1980s, most of the urban industrial bases had shrunk or eroded; where there are emerging multi-ethnic businesses that serve immigrants and refugees who move to Chamblee and Doraville en masse because of affordable city housing. By the time of the Summer Olympics in 1996, Chamblee had emerged as a multi-cultural city inhabited by a large immigrant community.
During the first decade of the 2000s, the city grew to improve its image, build a new town hall in 2002. In 2010, Chamblee annexed a direct area to the northwest that included Huntley Hills and a population of about 5,000. It also renamed Peachtree Industrial Boulevard to Peachtree Boulevard, and took steps to revitalize the city center.

Chamblee is south of Dunwoody, southwest of Doraville, northeast of Brookhaven, and north of Interstate 85. It is located on 33 à ° 53? 15? N 84 à ° 18? 19? W (33.887552, -84.305326). According to the US Census Bureau, the city has a total area of ââ3.1 square miles (8.0 km 2 ), all land.

Currently, there are plans for multi-use trail construction, known as Peachtree Creek Greenway. The purpose of the greenway is to provide citizens with close-to-home and close-to-work access to bike and pedestrian paths, serving transportation and recreational needs, and helping to promote quality of life and sustainable economic growth. This trail will connect the cities of Atlanta, Brookhaven, Chamblee and Doraville.
Demographics
In 2010 the Chamblee Census had a population of 9,892. The racial and ethnic composition of the population is 45.0% white (19.0% whites non-Hispanic), 7.0% black or African American (6.2% non-Hispanic black), 2.1% Native American 0.2% non-Native Americans), 1.8% Vietnamese, 1.6% Asian Indian, 4.6% other Asian, 33.5% of some other races (0.2% non-Hispanic from some other races ) and 4.1% reported two or more races. 58.5% of the population is Hispanic or Latino of any race.
In the 2000 census, there were 9,552 people, 2,673 households, and 1,849 families living in the city. Population density was 3,043.3 people per square mile (1,174.5/km ò). There are 2,730 housing units with an average density of 869.8 per square mile (335.7/kmò). City's racial makeup is 45.36% White, 3.71% African American, 0.91% Native Americans, 13.98% Asian, 0.32% Pacific Island, 31.45% of other races, and 4.27 % of two or more races. Hispanic or Latin of any race is 56.37% of the population.
There are 2,673 households where 33.9% have children under 18 living with them, 46.4% are married couples living together, 9.0% have unmarried female households present, and 30.8% is non-family. 15.8% of all households were individual and 4.1% had a living person aged 65 or older. The average household size was 3.57 and the average family size was 3.65.
In the city, the population is spread by 23.2% under the age of 18, 17.9% from 18 to 24, 41.0% from 25 to 44, 12.8% from 45 to 64, and 5.0% years or more. The average age is 28 years. For every 100 women, there are 161.3 men. For every 100 women age 18 and over, there are 176.9 men.
The average income for households in the city is $ 45,992. Men have an average income of $ 22,024 compared to $ 22,368 for women. The per capita income for the city is $ 15,492. Approximately 15.8% of families and 22.9% of the population are below the poverty line, including 25.2% of those under the age of 18 and 7.8% of those aged 65 and older. - Downtown : Downtown Chamblee has been preserved to have a railroad community early in the 20th century. Many antique buildings are historic, and these districts have architectural similarities to other similar railroad communities, such as Decatur and Norcross. Many downtown businesses are devoted to Chamblee's antique industry, but that has changed. The district has attracted significant commercial development since 2000, including apartments and townhome. The Chamblee MARTA Station and City Hall are both located in the city center.
- Sexton Woods: Partly in Chamblee and partly in the neighboring town of Brookhaven, Sexton Woods is a mixed neighborhood of the 1950s farmhouse style and recent recent decline. Sexton Woods is bordered by Chamblee-Dunwoody Road, Harts Mill Road, and Ashford Dunwoody Road. Sexton Woods is also the home of Chamblee Middle School, located on Chamblee-Dunwoody Road until 2006.

- Clairmont Park : The residential neighborhood along Clairmont Road, south of Peachtree Boulevard, near Peachtree Dekalb Airport. Huntley Hills Huntley Hills is a neighborhood founded in the early 1960s, although the first house was built in Lane Plantation in 1950. Huntley Hills Elementary School is located in the middle of the neighborhood. Huntley Hills Elementary has a Montessori program that was added during the 2000-2001 school year and opened on August 21, 1964. Huntley Hills also have a variety of special needs programs for children ranging from high to low disturbances. Beverly Hills/Beverly Woods Beverly Hills/Beverly Woods is a neighborhood founded in the early 1950s in parts of Chamblee that was annexed to the city in 2013. Many homes in this area were built as housing for employee of Doraville GM factory working nearby. The neighborhood is bordered by Chamblee-Tucker Road, Shallowford Road, and Beverly Hills Drive. Most medieval style farms and separate level houses with minimal filler housing in 2017.

According to the Biz Journal, the Atlanta metropolitan area is home to "... an approximate 50,000 Chinese-Americans...." This Atlanta suburb, Georgia is home to Chinatown (China: ? ??? ; pinyin: yÃÆ' tÃÆ' à © lÃÆ'án dÃÆ' tÃÆ'áng rÃÆ' à © n ji? ) which was built in 1988, and is one of the first of the "New Chinatown" according to the World Journal. Although the city of Atlanta itself does not have "Chinatown", Chinatown Chamblee mall is referred to as "Chinatown Atlanta". This neighborhood is part of the Buford Highway international market area and is located near Chamblee MARTA station and New Peachtree Road. According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution (AJC), it refers to this "Chinatown Mall" as "... where Atlanta is for Chinese culture." According to the official website, "Atlanta Chinatown" is located at 5379 New Peachtree Road. According to the Huffington Post, Chinatown is an example of "modern Chinatown", with Albany, Las Vegas, Dallas-Richardson, and North Miami Beach, Florida referenced as a similar example, with regard to the quality of Chinese food. There is an annual Lunar New Year event held to celebrate the festival. The author further states that the Atlanta Chinatown is "... unlike many old cities" that exist in urban environments. Chinatown Atlanta thinks it is "... in the mall" setting. Bonnie Tsui further states in his book that the new Chinatown relies on Chinatown being built before the Chinese population comes as he quotes about Las Vegas' Chinatown.
The Chinatown Market of Atlanta opened August 8, 1988, and was expanded again in 1996 with new immigrants from Beijing. According to previous sources, Chinatown Atlanta has bakeries, restaurants, cosmetics, bookstores, newspapers, and many other Chinese stores. Chinatown is currently managed by Rochelle Anthony, who is an African American.
According to Biz Journal, Atlanta Chinatown was completely renovated in 2000 by developer Peter Chang, who bought the old "Chinatown Square Mall". The plan calls for "... a 65,000 square foot mall [to include] a Chinese food court containing 7 vendors, two in-house dining, several offices, a Dinho Supermarket, souvenir shops, bookstore, jewelry store, shops video rentals, beauty salons and other retailers, will be part of the International Village project, a 375-acre community of living and working with a global theme being developed by local business leaders, DeKalb Chamber of Commerce, DeKalb County and Chamblee. "According to this article , the plan is to make Atlanta Chinatown a tourist destination rather than just another shopping center.
