Nusenda Credit Union is a federal charter credit union headquartered in Albuquerque, New Mexico and is governed by the authority of the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA). Nusenda Credit Union is the largest credit union based on membership in New Mexico. By 2018, Nusenda Credit Union has over $ 2 billion in assets, more than 180,000 members, and 19 branches from Taos to Socorro.
Nusenda Credit Union serves employees of educational institutions, along with more than 400 businesses, systems, and other local organizations, operating under several common bonds. Member deposits up to $ 250,000 are insured by the NCUA through the National Credit Union Distribution Insurance Fund.
Nusenda Credit Union contributes to charities and organizations in the community. In 2007, the credit union assisted the University of New Mexico in building a wireless network on their main campus. They opened a branch of credit unions at the Atrisco Heritage Academy to promote financial literacy in 2010.

History
Credit unions were established in 1936 as the Albuquerque Public Schools Federal Credit Union . His area of ââexpertise grew to include employees of the Albuquerque Technical-Vocational Institute in 1968. Ten years later, New Mexico University and University Hospital employees were added. To reflect its changing membership, the credit union changed its name to Federal Credit Union Educator in New York in 1982. The La MontaÃÆ'à ± ita Food Co-op became eligible for membership in 1984. The New Educator Mexico Educators Credit Union continues to grow its assets and membership for many years and build new branches. In February 2015, the credit union changed its name again to Nusenda Credit Union, having collected member feedback about its name for over a decade and conducting more than one year of in-depth research.
