Histori
Founded in 1915, the Riverside Health System was originally established as a small hospital. The health system and every major facility within the organization are governed by the Voluntary Supervisory Board of community leaders.
Riverside employs more than 7,000 people in over 100 locations in the Greater Peninsula-Williamsburg region and Middle Peninsula-Northern Neck community in eastern Virginia.

Riverside operates 1,030 acute hospital beds in four acute care hospitals, mental hospitals and physical rehabilitation hospitals.

The organization's flagship is Riverside Regional Medical Center (RRMC) in Newport News, Va. RRMC provides a regional cancer treatment center, regional radiosurgery center in partnership with Virginia University Health Systems and the region. only Open Heart surgery and Trauma Center II courses in the region.
Riverside Medical Group
Riverside evolved into a physician-led organization, having developed Riverside Medical Group into more than 325 doctors and providers connected to electronic medical records. Riverside is Virginia's only recognized hospital with the Most Wired award in 2007.
Riverside Medical Group is the 2008 winner of the American Medical Group Association Preeminence Award for outstanding leadership, innovation and vision, contributing to the advancement of quality, effective practices and delivery structures of health care, and outstanding contributions to the local public where health organizations are located.
