San Antonio is an unrelated community in Socorro County, New Mexico, United States, roughly in the state center, in the Rio Grande. The entire county population is about 18,000.

San Antonio is partly farm, and partly a community bedroom for Socorro and White Sands Missile Range.

The city supports several small businesses, which include the original Owl Bar and Cafe (featured in one of Burger Land's Burger Land episodes in 2013), Manny's Buckhorn Tavern (featured in 2009 on the Food Network Throwdown! With Bobby Flay ,), San Antonio Crane, a restaurant serving Mexican food, seasonal roadside markets and a general store.

San Antonio is the gateway to the Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Reserve. Interstate 25 stretches to the west, and the US Route 380 starts there and heads east toward Carrizozo. The Rio Grande is just east of San Antonio, and the BNSF Railway passes through it and has a small yard, a bit more than just siding.

Although still part of the New Mexico Region, the city is the birthplace of Conrad Hilton. His father was a merchant and businessman in San Antonio, and Hilton learned to trade hotels there. Hilton is one of the original legislators in the newly formed state of New Mexico, and founded Hilton Hotels Corporation.

San Antonio is about 28 miles from the Trinity Site, where the first nuclear bomb was detonated on July 16, 1945. Residents reported tremors like earthquakes and the city received some of the remains of a mushroom cloud, which resulted in radioactive contamination in the area. , which faded quickly and did not last until today. The city is the meeting place for the scientists who detonated the bomb.
