An infinity pool is a reflection pool or pool, where water flows on one or more edges, producing a limitless visual effect of water. Such pools are often designed so that the edges seem to blend with larger bodies of water like the ocean, or with the sky. They are often seen in resorts, plantations, and in other luxury places.

It has been claimed that the concept of infinite pools originated in France, and that one of the most ancient designs is the Stag Fountain at the Palace of Versailles, built at the end of the 17th century. In the US, architect John Lautner has been credited as one of the first to come up with an infinity pool design in the early 1960s. She belongs to an infinity pool in various residential projects, and also creates a vanishing pool in the James Bond film Diamonds Forever (1971).

Structure
The infinity pool is very expensive and requires extensive structural, mechanical, and architectural details. Because they are often built in precarious locations, the engineering of sound structures is paramount. The high cost of these pools often arises from a complex system of foundations that feeds them to the hillside.
The "unbounded" end of the pool ends at the dam 1 / 16 to 1 / 4 inch (2 to 6 mm) lower than the required pool water level. Trench or catch basin is built under the weir. Water spilled into the catchment basin, from where it was pumped back into the pond.
