Los Robles Hospital & amp; Medical Center is the largest hospital in eastern Ventura County. It is a hospital complex and medical center in the town of Thousand Oaks, California. This is a 321 bed acute care hospital with a second-level trauma center. The facility is owned by HCA-Hospital Corporation of America, and is operated by HCA Far West Division. Los Robles means "The Oaks" in Spanish, and its name refers to thousands of oaks around Thousand Oaks. It has 1,720 employees by 2016.
The hospital complex and medical center was built by the Linde family, and opened on 12 November 1968 as a 220-bed general treatment facility. The first open-heart surgery in Ventura County was conducted here on June 24, 1970. This hospital is known throughout the state for the Hyperbaric Medicine Unit, launched in June 1974. It was one of six such units in Southern California in the late 1980s -an.. It is also known as the most specialized heart center in Ventura County, and the first cardiac catheterization in the region was done here in December 1969. Los Robles opened the Pacemaker Clinic in 1972, three years before the country's first implanted pacemaker was implanted.
The first triplet of Ventura County was born in Los Robles in June 1976.
The hospital's premises were home to the pre-colonial Chumash summer camp.

Awards and recognition
It has received numerous awards for special care. It has been rated one of America's best hospitals for cardiac care by the Medicare and Medicaid Service Center (CMS). This is rated in the top 5% of US hospitals for clinical excellence by the National Research Corporation. It is the only Californian hospital certified by Ventura and Los Angeles County as a site designated by STEMI for a rapid heart attack response. It has been the No. 1 Consumer Choice Award Winner by National Research Corporation . Furthermore, Los Robles is the first Ventura County hospital to receive the full accreditation appointment by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers.
It is the first hospital in Ventura County to be awarded a comprehensive stroke certification from DNV GL in 2016. Accreditation is one of 14 in California, and reflects the highest level of competence to treat acute stroke.
