Patrick is the champion of the American Series Le Mans racer three times, winning the GT2/GT class in 2005, 2009 and 2010, and winning the Pirelli World Challenge Driver Championship in 2011 and 2017. In addition, he is part of the driving trio that claimed competition victory the first international for the innovative Porsche 911 GT3 R Hybrid, in 2010 1,000 km from Zhuhai, China. From 2006 to 2008, Patrick drove for the legendary Penske Racing team at Porsche RS Spyder, culminating in a LMP2 class victory and second place overall at Petit Le Mans 2008. In 2015, Patrick led the Dempsey-Proton team to success at the FIA ââWorld Championships. Endurance, in collaboration with Marco Seefried and Patrick Dempsey, mainly scored a 2nd place finish at 24 Hours of Le Mans and helped secure Dempsey's first professional race win in the GTE-AM class at Fuji, in Japan.
For 2016, he brought twin programs: again in the FIA ââWEC at # 88 Abu Dhabi-Proton Racing Porsche 911 RSR with Khaled Al-Qubaisi and David Heinemeier Hansson, as well as a full-season attack on Pirelli World Challenge with Wright Motorsports.
He has made two start in the Australian V8 Supercar Series - in 2010 for Garry Rogers Motorsport Fujitsu Racing where he finished fourth and 11th in a double race on the Gold Coast, and in 2011 for Walkinshaw Bundaberg Racing where he completed the 5th and 17th positions in the double race.
NASCAR
Patrick has made start in various NASCAR racing series, including one starting at Sprint Cup (Watkins Glen, 2012) and Nationwide Series (2010, Road America.) In the K & amps race N Pro Series East on June 6, 2009, Long was leading the race at Watkins Glen on the last lap before being ratified in the last round. Just two weeks later, Long was second on the final lap of the K & amp; N Pro Series West at Infineon Raceway when he made contact with the leader (Joey Logano) who spun out. Though Long picked up the first checkered flag, he was stripped of the victory by NASCAR due to contact and was placed at the tail end of the main lap. After the penalty is questioned, Long finishes 23 after starting at the pole. Later in the season he earned his first convincing victory in Salt Lake City. In 2010, Long won the NASCAR West show in Portland and took the lead at Tooele when a flat tire ended his day with three laps remaining. He finished 14th in the Elkhart Lake Nationwide race after starting the first 6 laps at Toyota D'Hondt-Humphrey. He has one ARCA starting where he took pole position and victory at NJMP after a long racing memo with Parker Kligerman.
